Dr. Styles served as National Service Line Leader for the Operations Efficiency practice for Ernst and Young. These services included the development of tools and web-based monitoring for cost management, hospital executive and physician incentive programs, and medical management effectiveness.
During his 20 years at KPMG, Dr. Styles worked with executive management and boards in numerous planning/feasibility and implementation of change projects. He also led in the development and implementation of service solutions for patient throughput, physician integration, risk management, financial modeling and affiliation/contractual assessments.
Having experience in nursing, finance and operations, Dr. Styles brings a distinctive perspective for coaching middle management, executives and board members. Working as a nurse in emergency and surgical environments early in his career along with his executive experience, Dr. Styles brings a unique, full scope perspective of issues concerning hospital leadership.
Dr. Styles has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University, Associate Degree Nursing, St. Mary's Knoxville, Master's in Health Administration, Duke University and Doctorate in Organizational Design, Loyola Marymount. In the past 3 years, he has brought his views on leadership development as a speaker at the ACHE congress and AHIA. He has been a contributing writer for Hospitals Magazine and Los Angeles Times.
