Mr. Authier is a patient advocate and has extensive experience in directing nursing operations around improving operational, financial, regulatory and business activities associated with an active and collaborative nursing team while maintaining high patient satisfaction. He has lead strategic planning efforts, as well as those focused on patient and staff satisfaction, budgetary and productivity efforts. Mr. Authier has experience leading system redesign and integration. He also has experience working with values-based leadership and is a skilled facilitator with consensus building and conflict resolution.
Mr. Authier has been actively involved in nursing leadership organizations on both a state and national level serving as President of the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE). He has also been involved in the American Hospital Association, State Hospital Associations, and multiple State Organization of Nurse Executives. Mr. Authier is a member of the Center for Nursing Leadership.
Mr. Authier is a writer and national speaker on culture and the work environment, with additional emphasis on effective communications, resilience, innovation, sustainability, and work-life balance. He is a contributing author on the topic of work-life balance for self and staff in the book 101 Global Leadership Lessons for Nurses: Legacies from leaders and their Mentors; and has been Co-Issue Editor of multiple issues of Nursing Administration Quarterly.
Mr. Authier holds a Bachelor of Science – Nursing degree from South Dakota State University and a Master of Public Health – Health Service Administration from University of Minnesota. He is certified in Coaching Process: Four Gateway Coaching, Boulder, CO.
